Rethymno, Crete

Halfway through the island of Crete on the northern shore and a little over an hour bus ride from Heraklio is Rethymno. This town has long beaches and tons of little shops.

Tons and tons of awesome storefronts and so many places to eat and drink coffee!

The donut man drives right up to you, and has fresh fruit too. Most places even have tasty menus right at your lounge chair.

Dining next to a pirate ship! You can’t get any closer to the water unless you want to sit in it.

A place called Melí Meló had an amazing outdoor sitting area with awesome coffee and Loukoumades! You couldn’t ask for a better spot to people watch and the waterfront just a few blocks away.

Manoli of Manolis’ Place was so freindly and a very interesting person. We had our last breakfast in Rethymno here and talked a while with him about his story and the area. Believe it or not that is his actual hair, both top and moustache !!!

We stayed at Vesperi Studios, an awesome very modern layer out place that was a few blocks from the ocean and a great starting point to the city a mile walk away.

Beautiful full moon, a great end to my time in Rethymno!
